17 ethnic Albanians convicted of terrorism offences

A Macedonian court on Friday handed down heavy jail sentences to 17 ethnic Albanians convicted of terrorism offences, AFP informed.
The group, which included three Kosovars and an Albanian national who were tried in absentia, were guilty of "terrorism, attacks on police, enemy activity and the illegal possession of weapons and explosives," said the court.
Those who were absent each got 15-year sentences, while of the remainder, one ethnic Albanian was jailed for 12 years and all the others 10 years.
